Connectivity

Good Thursday morning to everyone!  We're almost to the weekend!

Do you ever stop to think about the connections that you have?  I mean people with whom you have a relationship, whether it's familial, professional, or the tried and true friend-of-a-friend connection?

I listen to a podcast hosted by a former sportswriter who also co-hosts a sports program on television and he's been on the air in one form or another for a long time.  He reads listener mail regularly and it's astounding how many people will write in to say that they unintentionally got into contact with another regular listener and how they've become friends, or did favors for each other or something along those lines.

The host and his crew of regulars will often comment on the "connective tissue" of the show and how great it is that people are supportive of fellow listeners.  I've always found that to be interesting and just a nice commentary on people in general.

I've been writing this blog since 2009 and have received quite a few nice comments from readers over the years, but I do this mostly for myself, just to keep my hand in writing a bit and sharing my thoughts when something is on my mind.

But I am always happy to know that people who read these posts are enjoying reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

This happened for the first time in a while recently.

I received a very nice e-mail from someone who found my blog through a literary discussion forum when someone mentioned it, and the e-mailer in question is now a friendly contact!

As the saying goes, we're all here to do what we're all here to do, but I found this to be a very nice if uncommon occurrence.  To know that people find what I write to be interesting or thought provoking is certainly a bonus, I must say.

That said, I won't be trying to write for views or clicks, but rather to continue to offer my observations on things we all experience and some things that we may not all have happen to us.

For instance, we recently had an issue crop up with the shower in our master bathroom.  It was dripping, but not the usual draining after use, this was a constant drip-drip-drip.  Had a plumber come out and look at it, and it turned out we needed a new control module, new piping and all that goes with it.

It's in great shape now, but there is a cutout to an adjacent bathroom wall that I need to repair, but not so much that we want to make it look like it never happened.  The adjacent bathroom wall is the way that plumbers would access the other bathroom shower, so have to think about that.

The next day, wouldn't you know it, the toilet in that front bathroom began acting up, but luckily it just needed one part and I was able to address it myself.

Boring, but those who visit here are probably used to that kind of "too much information!"

Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend!
