Thinking out loud
Good day, friends. Hope you had a good weekend, and that if your father is still among us, you had the chance to at least call him or better yet visit!
Thinking about a few things during my travels for work and just in general as well.
I will not dwell on what’s happened with the current presidential administration since our last visit here, mostly because there’s not a lot any of us can do about it, but also because we all know it’s something we will endure and eventually move past.
So here are some of the things that have crossed my mind recently……
I think it may be time for public parking lots to have separate areas for pickup trucks and large SUVs. I drive a mid-size SUV so I can park about anywhere, but get awfully tired of watching these concrete cowboys (and -girls, to be sure) take two or three passes at parking their behemoth vehicles by backing in. And then being challenged in leaving their chosen spot.
I also think that there should be some sort of uniformity on the width of parking spaces. I marvel at how many people park RIGHT NEXT TO MY CAR and are so close that they could not have exited theirs without inflicting some damage on both cars!
Since I’m now appointing myself to legislate behavior among some subgroups, let’s add that we don’t place multiple orders at any drive-thru at one time. Too time consuming!
As most folks who visit here know, I travel a lot for my work and am in hotels a couple of times a month. Would be nice if those that provide breakfast would all agree upon times when they begin serving breakfast and when they end that service.
Let’s talk road construction. How about making it all occur between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM? That would make it easier to navigate cities where the traffic is already dense during the day! I get the construction issues in any large city, so difficult to keep working on roads that are already open. Sort of like building the plane while you’re flying it!
I could keep going, ranting about speakerphone use in public spaces, or the inability of many to be quiet during movies or other shows, or just the lack of civility in general.
But let’s save those for another time.
